    @dawndew
Do you know if anyone was hit in the the Brower Park incident?

If so, we would have 4 gun shot wounds in the 77th Pct in a 24 hr period:
    1. The Brower Park shooting

    2. This incident that started this thread, at NY and Pacific

    3. A shooting at Pacific and Nostrand: http://www.brooklynian.com/discussion/45524/gunshots-near-pacific-and-nostrand-around-1215-am-sat-april-18th#Item_11

    4. The one near the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital complex: http://www.brooklynian.com/discussion/45526/someone-shot-near-neptune-diner-april-18-around-5am-#Item_1

    Got it.

So this weekend's provisional total is 4 shooting incidents in the 77th Pct, with three confirmed gun shot wounds.

  • I'm always happy when the weather warms up.....for about a week.....and then I get tired of shootings.  It's like children eagerly waiting for that first nice day so they can go out and play.......with guns.

All but the Brower Park incident can be matched from our crude reports to that of Officer Salters.

So, here is an accurate statement:
"Over the weekend, there were 3 incidences of gunfire in the 77th Pct which resulted in 5 people being hit. The incident reported by @dawndew seems to be an additional incident of gunfire in which no one was hit."

Hopefully next weekend will involve less gunfire.

    Shaky lines on the horizon

    Snakey thoughts invade each person

Watch the red line creeping upwards

    Watch the sanity line weaken

At some point over the last 24 hours, the 77th Pct Anti Crime Team made street arrests that yielded two hanguns and some weed:

"Officers from the 77 Precinct in Brooklyn arrested a man in possession of two firearms after he allegedly threatened an individual early Wednesday morning. The officers responded to a 911 call for dispute between two individuals in an apartment building on Pacific Street in Crown Heights.

When the officers arrived on the scene they were informed by the victim that a man had threatened her with a handgun and was still in the residence. As the officers proceeded to search the residence they observed a man in possession of a firearm and quickly called for additional units to respond. As the officers began to secure the area that the man was occupying, he approached the officers and was placed under arrest without incident.

Further investigation and witnesses led the officers to find two illegal loaded firearms and marijuana hidden in the kitchen area where the man was seen. The 36-year-old man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal use of drug paraphernalia (scales).

(L-R) Sergeant Diab, Police Officer Vitale and Police Officer Valderrama, all assigned to the 77 Precinct."

  • Two guns of literally hundreds (?) on the streets of Crown Heights.
