It's dark, the drinks I've had there aren't particularly good, and it's not a place that I enjoy being the first to arrive at. Can't we go to Flatbush Farm, which is on the border with PS as well?

PS n00bs welcome, and you'll recognize me by my mace.
yeah, and for those of us (aka me) who are degenerate alcoholics, the place is a tempting spot for a fast, strong, cheap drunk. yes, drunk. but, that said, I believe I noticed that they have NA beer so I suppose I can make do. I just sincerely doubt I can convince the bartender to make me a juice and seltzer concoction that'll make me feel all girly and boozy without the booze.

    right ...

oh and to clarify my post. mooney's is the bad-temptation. flatbush farm, though they carry no NA beer, can be convinced to make me yummy juice spritzers.

I'm going to clarify for stacey based on our conversation from earlier--she means FF not Mooney's!
  • Fine with me. I just didn't want a protracted debate.

    Flatbush Farm it is!

Hopefully everyone will have checked this thread again before the actual happy hour and won't show up at the wrong place (which was what I was trying to avoid by picking it early).

Anyone volunteer to PM the people who replied above that they're coming (especially the n00bs)?

  • Hey all, where abouts is Flatbush Farm? I'm not having luck finding a location online, unless it's in a waaaaaay different place than I'm assuming.

EDIT: And yes, I assume it's on Flatbush somewhere.

  • Subject: how do you know

who is who? do you just walk up to people and say 'hi, are you here for the prospect heights drinky thingy?' it seems so scary. i'm like that little dot in those commercials with social anxiety disorder.

at this particular meetup we were the largest group in the bar (which isn't always the case) and Carnivore brought along the doll that is his avatar/userpicture and had it on the table. usually if I know that I'll be there at a reasonable hour, I let people know what I'm wearing (I realize that's so "let's meet for a date off CL" but whatever) or I give people my # and txt them with info about where the group is in the bar.

it's a friendly bunch, for the most part. at this last meetup I was a bit brain dead from excessive work, but it looked like everyone else was having a good time.
  • Subject: hmmm

maybe i'll give it a shot. thanks for the reply.
  • so when's the next one? i didn't get to stay long last time so i missed out!

This week and next are bad for me (all night shifts this week and out of town next week), so I won't be starting the happy hour thread this time. Anyone with an interest can start a happy hour thread. Just pick a place and time (Wednesday or Thursday evenings have been traditional). I'll make it a sticky once someone starts it.
