My grandchildren, 15 and 17, tried to play basketball at Berkeley Elementary School a bunch of older teenagers verbally harassed them and taunted them with racist slurs (my kids are white). I wasn't that offended by all the pot smoking but it was hard for me to take their bad impression of the neighborhood, a neighborhood I consider safe and generally tolerant.
