When the health department actually closes a restaurant, the fines and paperwork are often so onerous that the places never re-open.
Do any readers on Kingston think this one will come back to life?

Oh, wow. Things had to be really, really bad for this to happen. Shame, too, as the Yelp page has some great reviews.Edit: yep, I guess roaches and sign of live mice/droppings will do that.

Wow, I lived across the street for four years while my building on Franklin was being renovated, but I never ate there. In retrospect, I'm quite content with this decision.

Before closing this place, it looks like they had increased their supervision to inspecting it about once every two weeks:

The proprieter likely has to cope with not only with the closure order, but the fines that were amassed during all of those prior inspections:

Restaurants have a tough battle with vermin entering the building from other buildings nextdoor. i don't know how they do it. Sometimes I bet there is nothing that can be done within an old building but reopen elsewhere.

A large number of West Indian restaurants are presently opening up in Philadelphia. Rents are much cheaper, but I suspect the vermin are just as clever.
I hope their version of DOH is just as vigilant. -
Cas appeared open for business yesterday.

I wonder how expensive this chapter ended up being.
