Car Accident on St Johns near Rogers

At around 10:50pm I heard screeching tires followed by a guy yelling "oh fuck! Oh fuck!". Very shortly after 5 cop cars drove up and a police van. I now see the FDNY ambulance and hear something mechanical, maybe a tow truck.

From comments overheard in the area it seems to be a white sedan with a smashed up back and the driver is missing, no sign of whatever caused the sedan to be hit. Although it seems crazy that I heard the screeching tires but not any crunching crash after.

Anyone know more?

A loud "thud-THUD" woke me up just as i was falling asleep. i looked out my window right away but my view was partially obstructed. i saw the white sedan perpendicular to the curb, rear up against the sidewalk, with part of a bumper in the middle of the street. i looked down a few houses towards nostrand and saw a cop car with a couple cops running over towards the sidewalk. from what i could see, i think they arrested someone and put him in the patrol car and quickly drove off. my guess is this person/ suspect was evading the police and lost control of his vehicle and hopped out to flee. i could be totally wrong though.

That would explain why there were so many cop cars there so fast.  It baffled me that they got to the scene so fast and that there were so many of them.
