Shooting on Prospect Place

Around 1:30am coming home tonight there were (are) tons of police near the corner of Prospect Pl and Classon Ave. Apparently someone got shot...but onlookers said there was also another shooting a block away as well. Not sure of details but something went down.

Wait...this happened at 10:40pm? When I walked by after 1am, there were tons of cops and people were saying it just happened...and a guy in the corner bodega said there were two separate shootings that just happened.

The gunfire that you heard happened before this incident may not have resulted in anyone being shot, because I don't see it on any of the scanner sites, and that is usually the threshold for them posting it.

The 1:40 AM time is when the scanner site NYCAlerts POSTED IT.   While they are pretty good about posting confirmed gun shot wounds within a timely manner, in this instance, their competition (NYScanner) posted news of the same shooting at 12:42 AM.

So, your bodega worker is correct, the shooting that resulted in injury happened before 1 AM.

BTW, there is no mention of this shooting in the Daily News' "violent weekend in Brooklyn" article.

Needless to say, that does not mean it did not happen.    I believe the scanner sites more than I believe the DN.
