  • I finally checked out Island Village. Here's how it compares with The Island:

    Friendliness of staff/owner:

The Island: 10 out of 10 Island Village: 10 out of 10

    The food!:

The Islands: 10 out of 10 Island Village: 11 out of 10

I spoke to the owner of Island Village and told him that his place has been posted about on Dailyheights. He seemed quite pleased. I am pleased too! to have access to such delicious and reasonably priced ($7.50 for a sizeable meal of Jerk Chicken - 2 drumsticks and one breast, rice n peas and plantain).

    :D:D
  • I'm only interested if the rice & beans at the new place still has the coconut flavor going on.

Maybe be you could suggest it to them? It isn't on thier menu... Where have you had coconut rice anyway? Sounds interesting.

The rice and beans at The Islands is bursting at the seams with coconuty goodness.

The rice and peas at the islands is only good when it is fresh. I find it on the dry side for the most part. In terms of the coconut, I am not sure that it is bursting...I go for the jasmine rice so I can taste the favor of the entre.

I wonder if they boil the rice in coconut water?
