Filming in the neighbrohood

I've noticed a ton of filming in the extended neighborhood for tv and movies in the past few weeks. Just saw a noticed for another tomorrow, so I assume it's not letting up any time soon. I understand that summer brings more of these, but is it normal to have what feels like so many in a small area -- I've seen about 6 in approximhsly three weeks? Or has there been a recent change (tax or otherwise) to bring them here?
