Wow, MeanDººD -- you may very well be the only Brooklynian regular who has his own fan club! At least until Maggie and Peter start posting here, anyway.
Peace,

Does Jeffrey Wright live around here?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0942482/
I saw him, and said hello because in that funny way it goes with actors you THINK you know them from somewhere . . . a fellow dog owner, a Co-op member, the parent of a kid you know. Then, you think HEY that's the guy in the play with MOS Def! -

I was on a plane coming back from a work trip in Utah this past April and Stanley Tucci and his wife were seated next to me. In coach! We chatted briefly a time or two during the flight and finally as we were landing I got up the guts to say, "So, pardon me for asking, but do you really look a lot like Stanley Tucci or are you Stanley Tucci?" He laughed and said, "I am, in fact, Stanley Tucci." And I'm such a dork I just said, "Cool!"
They were coming back from their second home in Park City and live in Westchester, so it's not a Park Slope story at all, though. -

I'm not saying this is complete B.S. ... but I wasn't able to turn up any independent confirmation that Don/Donnie Jeffcoat lives around here. MeanDood, if you weren't already such a prankster on this board, I wouldn't be as skeptical as I am... 8)

But how many degrees are you from Kevin Bacon?
Peace,

Don Jeffcoat has a Bacon number of 2.
Don Jeffcoat was in Ghoulies II (1987) with William Butler (I)
William Butler (I) was in My Dog Skip (2000) with Kevin Bacon -
Anyone know if Brian Posehn lives around these parts? If I didn't see him today, I saw a guy who looked just like him.
And I'll you people (heh) something else: Ghoulies II is a rare example of a movie sequel that surpasses the original. -
Jeffrey Wright lives in Fort Greene with his wife, actress, Carmen Ejogo. I also see actress Joie Lee (Spike Lee's sister and star of most of his earlier films) in the Slope and in Fort Greene. I think she lives in Fort Greene

Godfather II could be another one (tough call), although III sucked the big pastrami.

You're right, III wasn't very good, but at this point it's so reviled its actually better than its reputation. -
Susan Sarandon does yoga in the neighborhood

Superman II

Lethal Weapon II
The Empire Strikes Back
X2: X-Men United
Evil Dead 2
The Road Warrior (Mad Max II)
Legend of the Drunken Master (Drunken Master II)
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
(maybe) The Godfather Part II -

Legend of the Drunken Master (Drunken Master II)

Superman II - agree.
Empire Strikes Back - about equal, but I give it the edge because I root for the bad guys.
X2- Don't think I've seen it.
Evil Dead 2 - basically a remake, maybe better effects but also played more for yuks. I preferred the first one.
The Road Warrior - Tough call.
Legend of the Drunken Master - Haven't seen either.
Lord of the Rings - Yes, T2T was better, but FOTR was all setup. I think we're looking at source material limitations (if you can call it that).
Star Trek II - No contest. And they got rid of those ridiculous pajama uniforms.
GFII- The "classic" sequel-is-better case. I agree.
Also, Polica Academy 2 was at least as good as the first one. It was nice to see all that training pay off with concrete results in the field. -

I've seen her emerging from a certain "hot yoga" (bikram-style) place not far from the Slope a couple of times. Maybe she likes a particular instructor so much that she comes to Brooklyn for his/her classes -

Calling LOTR: The Two Towers (movie) a sequel is like calling the LOTR (the book) a trilogy. It's not.

What would you call LOTR then? A trinity?
So sequels that surpass the original are not unheard of. But name me a prequel that surpasses the original. -

Hmmmm...50% of The Godfather II? And - no question here - Missing in Action II: The Beginning. -

RDRR.
LOTR is a single story published in 3 volumes for ergonomic and economic reasons. -
