Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC)’s 2017 Autumn Art Shows:
Interactive, Material Matters, Interactive, Grand Installations, Photography Pop-up, Really Affordable Art Show
Saturday, September 30th, 2017 and Sunday, October 1st, 2017
BWAC shows span a range of creativity in the Arts, and the Fall Show is no exception. With five (5) different Art Exhibitions on two floors, plus music and a Café, coming to the BWAC Gallery on the Red Hook Waterfront is your chance to experience:
Material Matters: Innovations in Clay, Glass, Wood and Metal: BWAC’s annual show of museum-quality ceramic art, selected by Lillian Tone, Assistant Curator from MOMA.
Photography Pop-up: Photography Salon “Hit Me with Your Best Shot”.
Interactive: Our members show, located on the second floor.
Grand Installations: An immersive Art Experience: Visitors will be part of the ongoing intermixing of creativity, the ongoing exchange of thought patterns, uniquely placed within the creative zone with the merging of visions, words, music, thoughts… never static.
Really Affordable Art Show: Over 150 works under $499 selected by show juror Laura Phipps, Assistant Curator of Art, Whitney Museum of Art.
EVENTS:
Saturday, September 30th:
2:00 PM-3:30 PM: Award winning documentary Between the Folds chronicles the stories of ten fine artists and intrepid theoretical scientists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at hard-earned graduate degrees—all to forge unconventional lives as modern–day paper folders.
Sunday, October 1st:
2:00PM-3:00PM: Singer/songwriter Matt Wiffen Matt draws influences from the British folk music revival as well as, American roots, blues & country music.
3:15PM-4:15PM: Singer/songwriter Ithalia Johnson was born and raised in the Bahamas, and delivers her thoughtful views of life on a rhythmic wave of rock, soul, country, folk and whatever moves her.
4:30PM-5:30 PM: Singer/songwriter Malcolm Smart Malcolm's tunes are in the English pop song tradition of Ray Davies, Nick Lowe, and Elvis Costello.
Free Admission
The show is open weekends 1-6PM and runs through October 15
