1075 Bergen
It looks like a cafe or bar is being built out on the first floor. Does anyone know what this will be?

Name is ZigZag, 1075 Bergen Street (near Nostrand Avenue). They presently have a temporary 30 day lic for Beer/Wine/Cider, and need to get a permanent one.
-
there's also a japanese-owned restaurant opening right next to there (or is that the name of said restaurant?)
-
No, i know about Cotton Bean, it's not that one. They (cotton bean workers) know about this nearby restaurant though, and that they're taking forever to open! Could be zig zag...dunno.
-
You are right. An application taped to their door says that they will be a Japanese restaurant called Utera.
-
Can you get me the street address of Utera?
-
I misspelled the name above. According to the beer and wine application in their window, they will be operating under the name Uotora. The address is 1075 Bergen. Here is a website: https://uotorany.com/about/

Ah, that makes sense. They have applied for the liquor license under the their incorporated name of ZigZag, but they will operate under the name of Uotora. https://www.tran.sla.ny.gov/servlet/ApplicationServlet?pageName=com.ibm.nysla.data.publicquery.PublicQuerySuccessfulResultsPage&validated=true&serialNumber=1307215&licenseType=RW

This was in the Community Board 8 meeting minutes earlier this month: "ZigZag, 1075 Bergen Street (near Nostrand Avenue) – Beer/Wine/Cider (A 30-day waiver was issued as a courtesy for the applicant as they had begun the application process for a liquor license. If the applicant does not attend the SLAC meeting, the 30-day waiver will be revoked and a letter of non-support issued to the SLA immediately following the SLAC meeting.)"
-
Yes, applicants are to notify the Community Board before they seek a lic from NYSLA. So, this means that they may need to restart the process because they skipped a step. ...which would delay the process by potentially months. https://www.tran.sla.ny.gov/servlet/ApplicationServlet?pageName=com.ibm.nysla.data.publicquery.PublicQuerySuccessfulResultsPage&validated=true&serialNumber=1307215&licenseType=RW

Outora opened yesterday.

Is it good? With the new ownership at Gen, it seems a void needs to be filled east of Washington.
-
Ate there last night. It was wonderful! We have been truly missing a real Japanese restaurant here in Crown Heights. The sushi was superb.
