Ice Cream Survey

Sorry I've already posted this in other forums but your help is, well very helpful to me.

If you have a minute, please take this super short survey about your ice cream preferences at

Super thanks!

  • Not a bad survey, overall, but you need some more repsone options. For isntance, I wanted to put Hagen Daaz for Q5, but I did not see it. Perhaps an "Other" in addition to "A non-franchise locally owned shop" --it's just not collectively exhaustive. Also, for the first question (Q1) you should move "never" to the end, not the beginning of the response options.

Are you planning to open something up?

---maybe ask for people's income in categories
---You could even ask for zip code to see where they live.
---Oh and gender might be good to add as well.

Q6 was leading, it made me think I'd be turned off before I had a chance to decide for myself. I had to think "why might people be turned off" instead of otherwise maybe stating things that would turn me ON about the concept of a DIY icecream place.

Anyway, I love icecream, so if you open a place, I'll be the first one there! ---provided it's a convienent location :)
  • Thanks for the tips. I think you're right. In fact when my girlfriend got home from work she scolded me for not consulting her first before creating a survey. She has an MBA and a lot of survey experience. I was just excited about getting some feedback and information. Also surveymonkey limits free surveys to 10 Qs, otherwise I would have asked more demographic stuff.

I am hoping to open a place somewhere in the neightborhood and will probably try out another survey down the line since I got a lot of responses. Maybe even a focus group will be held at Soda bar or Freddys.

As I'm figuring out what the character of the place will be, the more input from people the better.

Ha, I did not mean to just be hypercritical, I think it is good overall for what you need to do. I sit at a computer all day evey day writing surveys, managing them and then analyzing the data and consulting with my the clients, so I guess it takes over the brain after a while! Surveymonkey is a good tool; I did not know you could do any surveys with them for free so props to you for doing your research! Good idea with some face to face time with some locals, get people chatting and find out what they want. you can never have too much data!
