    AIEEE...MY EYES...MY EARS...JESUS CHRIST NOOOOO!

That's some seriously bad web design.
  • I'm trying to sign up for the mailing list... it looks like they are trying to induct me into an e-mail marketing campaign or something. It's automatically selecting "Neo-Soul R&B and Hip-Hop" as my "choice crowd."

  • Yeah, I think they've already lost my business on geek principles alone.

    I feel dirty now. :x
  • Wow, I LOVE websites that open with noisy music while I'm at work, and then crash my browser so that one measure of the noisy music loops continuously while I try to ctrl-alt-delete the hell outta there! That'll definitely win over the young professionals.

I wonder what a "Fight Party" would entail.
  • All I know is that my coworkers now suspect me to be a closet Beyonce fan and that is just sooooo not punk rock.
  • The one on Dean is called Blu Lounge. A tad more upscale-ish, me thinks. Talked to the owner a month ago. Said that construction snafus, owner problems, etc. pushed back the opening like, six months. Supposed to have opened up July 15 but, well, we'll see.

Huh, there's a place in Williamsburg by that name that used to have an awsome karaoke night, hosted by a 6'5" transvestite with a wicked deep voice.
  • Sorry, the name is Indigo Blu. Dropped the modifier. You'll have to get trannie kicks elsewhere.

What a pisser. So damn hard to find good tranny karaoke these days. 8)

Ha!! I had my speakers turned down. Hilarious. Reminds me of my all-time favorite quote about bad website design:

"If I had wanted your website to make a noise, I would have licked my finger and rubbed the screen."
  • Discussion of the worst webpage in this history of the world, which is here. Is it a joke, or just spectacularly bad? No one knows.

By the way, I listen to music at my desk all the time; I just try to keep it quiet. After all, nothing says "I take my job seriously" like listening to the Beach Boys at your desk on a Monday morning in July.

My bet is that it's for real. I used to know people like that when I was freelancing. Dinosaurs that live under a rock. I just tried validating their code...scary. I'm tempted to send them a spank-down email for being such morons and/or possibly letting their ISP know they're abusing copywritten images. Eh...but I'm lazy.
  • The best part--maybe they took it down though--is where they claim they've been designing websites since 1983. WOW!

It's still there. Award winning web design since 1983. Seriously, these guys are olde skool professhunuls. Take a step back and learn something! 8)
  • They also, apparently, own a time machine. That's pretty kewl!

Not to mention the ability to magically create a graphically capable internet against all odds. There wasn't even such a thing as a web browser back then...or even html. Talk about true grit! 8)
  • i looked up this domain in WhoIs and the administrative contact is affiliated with a company called bmkdesigns.com, which actually has a pretty normal looking website. Weird.
  • That makes me think it's a joke, like our fake wedding website. Warning: has terrible MIDI file music.
  • JoshB, is that place in Williamsburg the same one as the Blue Lady Lounge, or are there two places with similar-sounding names? Just curious.
  • Similar-sounding names, me thinks. Blu Lounge was (or is, for all I know) on N. 8th Blue Lady is over on Metropolitan.
