how to be safe-tn.jpgPublished by the Amy Vanderbilt Success Program for Women, the pamphlet "How to be Safe in Your Home" (1963) warns housewives that "many of your food supplies are packed in all-too-breakable glass containers or in cans that will have jagged edges when opened."

This is one of several books FOUND in a blue plastic tub on Sterling Pl. (btw Washington and Underhill). Also found was the mysterious 1907 tome "Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by LEVI," 1972 printing, was purchased in 1974 from Flying Saucer News on 359 West 54th St. in Manhattan. The book is a record of "the intimate details of Christ's life" from the "'lost' eighteen years so strangely silent in the New Testament ... written from the original authentic 'Akashic Records' by a student who devoted forty years to preparation for the task."

Found on Sterling Pl.: "The Mystery of The American Money," a 1932 lecture by Emmet Fox that is dedicated "TO THE YOUTH OF AMERICA," in which Fox tries to predict the future of the United States using the symbols and numerology in gold coins.
  • Subject: Ring on Sterling

I found a ring on the steps of 436 Sterling a few weeks ago. It is silver, some nice detail, with a rock in it I can't name (dark green, almost black).

Anyone lose a ring near 436 Sterling? Perhaps lost by a hobbit, chased by dark and shadowy horseman? If so, just email me here & its yours.
  • Well, you just gave away most of the details... I suppose I could make a positive ID and claim it! How much do you think I could pawn it for?
  • Subject: Sterling Ring

You couldn't get much for it. Maybe five bucks. But it might have sentimental value. Are you seriously claiming it?
  • no, just another failed attempt at humor. Must... use... more... smilies... :D:D
  • do not remove.jpgWell, this one stumped me. Found it taped to the wall next to the laundromat at Underhill and Sterling. I was too intimidated by the handwritten warning to look inside. I came by the next day to find the box had been ripped from the wall and thrown in the garbage pile on the curb. Lizzie?

This was yet another attempt in our quest to Find Jimmy, my neighbor's kitty who's been missing since July 28. The logic was that since he escaped from the window above that box, if we left the window open a crack and provided him a stepping box, he could get back in if he so chose. Sadly, no one has seen him and he is terribly missed...
