These people deserve the full jail time that they're facing. On the other hand, I really don't want to see my tax dollars go to feeding and housing these two idiots. Perhaps we could send them to Europe?

the icing on the cake here comes at the end of the article: their phenomenally stupid "art" wasn't even an original idea -- and earlier ones, judged strictly as concept art, were better.

According to the article, a judge gave six days of community service for another person who placed suspicious packages in the subway. Seven years is beyond excessive.

just let them spend a night with the big boys and they'll learn their lesson how stupid their stunt was. i think anything besides that and comunity service would be too harsh. think about showing with big bubba for a day would scare them straight.

How about a liftetime ban from a career in art, and from the city of New York? Both the art community and the city would be better off without them.

Just so you know when articles list the potential sentence it is the maximum on the top charge. A case like this gets plea bargained down to, at worst, a misdemeanor, and probably a disorderly conduct and community service. Come on guys, can we give the young fools a break.

Community service seems far more appropriate than jail time. Like I said, I don't want taxpayer money going to feed and house these "young fools". But it should be a lot more than six days of service. Sorry, I used to work in the WTC, and though I was not there on 9/11, thankfully, I'm very touchy on the subject of mass murder. I don't appreciate cheap political stunts that exploit the city's anxiety.

No, we can't. Its stupid and poorly thought out. Its no different than someone pulling a fire alarm or calling in a bomb threat. These aren't 12 year olds. They are juniors in college and should know better.
