    HOMER
Son, I know it hurts. I still remember my first lifetime banning.

We see Homer's recollection. He is at a Gallagher show. Gallagher is about to hit a melon on a stool, but someone takes it at the last minute, and the mallet rebounds and hits him in the face.

    GALLAGHER
    Ow! Hey, where's my melon?

We see Homer is eating it. The scene then cuts to Homer being thrown out.

    GALLAGHER
...and you are banned for life from all of my performances, and TV specials!

    HOMER
But I can still see your movies, right?

Gallagher growls angrily and slams the door. Homer starts crying, and we dissolve back into the present, where Homer is also crying.

    HOMER
(he sniffs) And I never saw Gallagher again.
  • Have you ever tried Zicam? Works for me, though some people who are suing the manufacturer claim that it made them permanently lose their sense of smell. YMMV.

I'll be there, with "dennisobell" and my friend Jamie if I can persuade him.

Are we really going to MW at 7:40 or should we just meet at BB? Sounds like some people are going to be running late, and I have this chronic "oh crap, what's for dinner?" problem that could make me late as well.

I don't know if you really want to open up the homeopathy can of worms here. Let's just say that as a scientist, I'm highly skeptical.

Re: Muddy Waters, it seems like there is at least some interest in the "rude-in". I think it would be really funny. Besides, if you're running late, you can pick something up at El Gran Castillo De Jagua. It's right across the street from Brownstone Billiards.

In all seriousness, that's where I'm having dinner tonight. That picture just stirred the craving! :P

NO! All I said is that I'd charge the net, I didn't say I would win. Just break the ping pong table, which I suppose is a sort of winning.

    she's frightened! she's frightened!!!

I'm no scientist, but I say that the best thing for a cold is (conveniently) the chicken soup from El Castillo de Jagua.

It's full of juicy chicken organs and bone marrow and some carrots and noodles. You should eat a large sized one for the best results. You might need a second dose in 12 hours.
  • I am not a scientist except in the science of sweet, sweet lovin'. And even there, most of my experiments are failures owing to lack of a control group.

That said, echinacea seems to work for me, even if it is just Hawthorne effect.

Hmm, that chicken soup is sounding good too.

Hell yes she is! It takes a real man to admit when he is frightened.

Would you consider granting me a pardon if I told you that I was going to one of your favorite cities down south?

New meta-analysis of homeopathy studies in The Lancet (the premier British medical journal):

Cut and paste the URL into your browser address bar, since I can't get the "URL" link feature to work:

Short version: all evidence seems to indicate that any benefit of homeopathic therapy is due to placebo effect.
