Mail Problems in Ft. Greene Improving??

My service really has improved since that meeting, so I haven't had any reason to complain further. I'd suggest you contact both Warner and Robinson.
RE: your roommate's legal problems. I had a similar situation a couple of years ago. I had a paper trail of my complaints about missing mail, so I was able to demonstrate that it was likely I had never received notices. That cleared up my problem.
I don't know if you have documented complaints, so maybe this doesn't help you at all.
Also, you might want to contact Karen Johnson in Congressman Ed Towns' office. I don't have the phone number, but she's at 26 Court St. She's the one who originally got the PO to respond to me. I'm sure she'd back you up about poor service, since they've apparently been getting slammed with complaints. -
Mr Warner called me back this morning; the manager for the 11217 ZIP is scheduled to be replaced within the next 2-3 weeks and he sounded as though he would actively work to resolve the issues we've been experiencing on Fulton St. He seemed as upset by the situation as I was/am.
He also said that he'd follow up later this week to check that last week's issues have been resolved.
I'll keep you updated. -

To get serious for a moment -- yes, it is above and beyond. So let's do something about it.
I expect as much goverment incompetence as the next guy, but this is truly above and beyond.
...
Seriously -- let's do something. Call the managers? Call 311? Nathan led the charge, but it looks like it's still got a ways to go -- let's all move from speaking up in here to speaking up to the powers that be. Ideas?
I agree. I am going to forward these numbers to my friends who moved out and get them to call the Pratt P.O. to complain about the lack of mail forwarding.
I strongly urge anyone else reading this to report problems. Nathan did a great job getting contact info and if we don't speak up, nothing will change.
This is one of the few times in life where calling the gov't can actually get results. -
I have had so many problems with that post office. I live on Washington PARK and at least once a week the mail is tossed over the gate instead of taking the mail to the boxes upstairs. We even have a laminated sign that asks the carrier to do that. No such luck.
I have called those numbers before and I found Mrs. Robinson to be rude and will side with the mail carriers when they deny they tossed the mail over the gate. Archie Warner never returned my calls.
I now call the main USPS number and file a complaint with them. You get a complaint number for tracking purposes and the Pratt folks have to call you back and listen to you.
Here's an unfunny story:
An express mail package was delivered to my apt. instead of Washington AVENUE. I was able to call the sender and tell her the package was at my address instead of her daughter. Well, her daughter never swung by to pick it up so about a week later I saw a mail carrier and told her I wanted to give her an express package that was delivered to my house by mistake. She said I would have to go to the post office, wait in line and give it to someone because she couldn't take it. And she said I couldn't drop it in a mailbox either. So, I dropped it in the mailbox.
We get mail for Washington AVENUE so often that I wonder what mail of ours they get. -
Oh, I used to live on Washington Avenue -- we definitely got mail for Washington Park, and for Washington Street as well. Totally unacceptable. I had the same thoughts -- is someone else getting my mail? We even got mail for the wrong state once.

I live on Clifton Place. I get mail for Clinton, Cumberland, Cambridge, you name it...anything with my house number + a street that starts with C. For about a month I was getting enormous mailbags of stuff tossed over my downstairs stoop door - for an office building with my address on Court St. Calling Adelphi Station got me nowhere. So I finally borrowed a neighbor's flatbed dolly and wheeled six mailbags' worth down to Fulton to show them the stuff that should have gone to Court St. Did anyone say thank you? Hell, no - I was threatened with arrest for having tampered with the US Mail! So I pointed out that my tax dollars were paying their salaries, and threatened a class action on behalf of Clinton Hill residents fed up with lazy, illiterate, obstructionist mail service. Then I rented a mailbox at a private service that accepts packages and mail and gives you access at any hour of the day or night, and I haven't dealt with Adelphi since - I just tell everyone trying to send me packages that they don't provide delivery slips and "lose" anything of value, and that you can send mail to me via the USPS at your own risk. You can't make this stuff up...
