NEW JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER OPENS ITS DOORS SERVING THE PROSPECT HEIGHTS, FORT GREENE & CLINTON HILL NEIGHBORHOODS
Rabbi Ari & Chaya Kirschenbaum and their two children, Liba & Meir Avner are pleased to announce, that after only two short years of establishing a vital and pulsating Jewish presence in the Prospect Heights, Fort Greene & Clinton Hill neighborhoods, the heart of Brownstone Brooklyn, they will be opening the doors to a new JCC located at 214 Underhill Ave. (Bet Eastern Parkway/St Johns Pl) on the second floor.
The center will serve as the nerve axis for all that is Jewish, exciting, innovative and above all, all embracing. “Brooklyn is going through a Jewish renaissance period unlike one we have witnessed before†said Rabbi Ari “like our local real estate market, it’s been tough keeping up with the demandâ€.
Amongst some of the inaugural projects set to get underway are, The women circle comprised of women from diverse affiliations and backgrounds who join together through workshops ranging from hands-on Challah Baking to understanding the feminine mystique according to the Kabbalah to oil blending and bottling. One-on-One learning sessions where you get a chance for either in-depth study or basic Jewish text analysis on your level and pace with an experienced and accomplished partner. FNL! (Friday night live!) a weekly Friday night digest celebrating the Shabbat, with a Kabbalat Shabbat service filled with song, followed by schnapps and kugel. Holiday seminars, clinics and events for children and adult alike. Shabbat dinners and lunches, provides an opportunity to bring together people with divergent points of view, backgrounds and affiliations in an atmosphere of friendship, not to mention the delicious food. And much more.
Above all, it will serve as home away from home, no matter what your background, or level of affiliation may be, you are always welcome at Chabad. There is no membership fee or i.d. required. All that is necessary is an open mind, a desire to learn and a willingness to grow and participate. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Just trying to picture the location, is this in the old Laundromat building?
-
Yes. Second floor, Underhill entrance.
-
This sounds like Madonna & Ashton Kutcher Cabala stuff. Either that or Lubavitcher. Possibly 17 Eastern Parkway. Red strings required?
-
is this the same chabad that held high holiday services in the public school on Vanderbilt. ?
-
No.
-
Subject: this is NOT a JCC
as one might know JCCs from the north american movement of them - not-denominational, not religious, diverse, gym, pool, cultural events, etc. this IS chabad. -
isn't Rabbi Frankel the official chabad of prospect heights and brownstone village?
