  • Ugg! Please don't! Those things are hideous.
  • I saw a homeless woman wearing pink uggs the other day and she was complaining about them...
  • Everyone is so helpful here.

I consider saving somebody from a fashion accident IS being helpful!
  • I must have missed some sort of disclaimer or banner where it was implied that ye wanderers of the internet could seek advice here.

Answer to your question: I have seen none. Try one of those shoe stores near Union Square.
  • Subject: Uggs

I saw some in the DSW up by Target. They may not be cute, but they are functional.
  • Consider ordering online if you can't go far :)
    Try zappos.com

There's plenty of footwear to choose from that's functional without being annoying ...

Huh? Wanderers of the internet? I thought this was a public PS board and I am asking a PS question. And, Union Square isn't exactly PS or WT. but, thanks for being such a friendly neighbor!

thanks to everyone else who answered. Will check DSW.
  • I still think an intervention is in order. It's for your own good, dear, really. :)

    I think so, too!

I hope the rotation isn't "crocs in the summer, Uggs in the winter".
  • Subject: speaking of shoes

does anyone know where I can get those sneakers with skates in them for adults??
  • Wow, tough crowd it's me.

They may be hard to find in the Slope, but maybe Macys in downtown Brooklyn has some. There is also a place on 7th Ave between 2nd and 3rd but I don't know if he carries that brand.

    jeez.
  • Ok, I admit that I didn't know what an UGGS was so I checked it out online. I remember seeing them around now, and I'm just wondering why everybody is drinkin' on the UGGS haterade...Ok, they're not great looking in my opinion, but they look a lot better than Crocs. Are they just "over" or something? Tell me the deal, I'm curious.

They are over. They were over when women started wearing them in the summer with short skirts. They just look very dated now. But they are supposed to be warm, so if you want a pair of warm boots, why not? Hell, if you like them and you want to wear them, wear them. Especially in Park Slope, where we're all wearing ugly shoes (except erikka). However, I don't remember ever seeing them in a store here.
  • This is the worst footwear thread that has ever existed.

WHY oh WHY would anyone want a pair of those? So you can have gross sweaty feet and look like and ewok? Pardon me for not enabling that.

Hideously ugly, make your feet really sweaty and stinky and being paired with any- and everything....miniskirts, black dresses.

YES--what is up with wearing them with mini-skirts. If it's so cold out that you need furry boots, why are you wearing a miniskirt. It's similiar to Down Vest Syndrome (coined by a friend, not me): warm chest, cold arms.

All that pic is lacking is some Tevas.

    With black knee socks
  • No comment on the little boy, but surely it's okay for little girls to wear Crocs.
  • It actually makes sense to keep your hands and feet warm as they are further from the blood pumping heart and tend to get colder and coldest first as a result.

Uggs look pretty comfortable to me,particularly compared to some of the uber pointy toed shoes and heels women wear. I really don;t like the super pointy toed shoes.
  • All the men I know say the same thing about pointy shoes. I guess because the toe part is like 5 freakin' inches beyond the actual toes. They are especially unattractive if you wear a size 10 shoe like I do. I was miserable as a kid. I had pontoons for shoes.
  • They look so freaking uncomfortable too. I'm not sure what the selling point is there.

They've always kind of reminded me more of Ooklah the Mok (from Thundarr the Barbarian).

  • They must be chic, Brittany Spears wears them.

Wore...past tense. Even Brit Brit has moved on.
  • I think it's nice that so many people are trying to save this poor person from a terrible trend from three years ago. It's a mitzvah, seriously.

I think I'll just barely be able to nose into heaven on account of this.
