This. Sun., the NYC Marathon- will PS be a nightmare?

I see that 4th Ave will be closed from 8-1. I am planning on driving into Brooklyn via the Battery Tunnel, go to Red Hook then go to PS. If all that is occuring between 10-12, I assume I will have a REALLY hard time? Any alternate route ideas? I guess after Red Hook I should somehow circle around to get to PS?

  • I'm not sure but I guess you could hop on the bqe/prospect expressway to bypass it.
  • Do you really have to drive? You could subway/bus it, which may be a better alternative.

Driving on the day of the marathon is a nightmare!
  • Traffic will be a total nightmare throughout the city. I'd strongly suggest you completely avoid driving and take the subway.

    Easy.
Tunnel to Gowanus (get in left lane) to Prospect Expwy to 11th Ave exit.
    Too easy.
  • I'd suggest that this is a problem that is best approached from a 4-dimensional perspective. If you must make this trip by car on marathon day, go early in the morning before it starts.
