south slope stink, not cotton candy — Brooklynian

south slope stink, not cotton candy

a couple of nights last week, and once this weekend, as i was coming home to 8th ave. and greenwood cemetary, there seemed to be a nasty electrical fire smell in the air, as if somebody (or some business) was burning plastic, or incinerating rubber covered electric cables, or torching medically contaminated rubber gloves, or, or.... whatever it was, it did not smell good.

anybody else in the neighborhood smell anything semi-toxic in the air recently?

our house is at the top of the hill, so i couldn't pinpoint where it might have been coming from. it occured to me that it MIGHT be fumes from the Hamilton Ave. DOT plant down the hill (across from Lowes), but it didn't really smell like asphalt.....
