Toms or the poll? well, either way - neither is closed.
  • The poll doesn't really give you much choice. I don't see any other local diners on that list. How can they not have The Usual or Park Cafe? The food at those places is just as good and friendly. Well maybe not the Park Cafe depending who you get.

Well, it is NYC best and Toms is pretty well known. Maybe in 70 years the usual will be on the list :P ;)
  • Is your dog a shiba?
    Anotherdayinbkln,
  • The people at Tom's are very nice friendly, but please its just greasy diner food. What is so good about an omellette, or greasy chilli buirger, not the best breakfast that i have tasted.Do Not go there new years day, a bunch of wanna be cool and wanna be local people...
  • Huh?? wanna be local?? either you're local or you're not.
  • So someone who just moved here from god knows where is a local??

I hope so. That's why I moved here, and not somewhere where you need to be able to trace your ancestry back to a matched breeding pair on the ark.
  • My husband and I have lived in PH for just under a year. When we go to Tom's on Saturdays, Gus recognizes my husband and I the moment we walk in the door and greets us both very warmly (hugs, kisses, back-patting, etc.) I'd like to think that's the only criteria needed to be a "local" at Tom's - to be recognized.
