I am from London and coming to NY on holiday.. I can not choose btwn a B&B on Park Place btwn Vanderbilt and Underhill or one on Hoyt st near Carroll St station... any advice folks??? Thanks!

Hoyt St, but then you'd prolly get an entirely different answer on the Park Slope board...
