  • what's a charette?
  • what's a charette?
That's a new one for me too. Here's the def:

a final, intensive effort to finish a project, esp. an architectural design project, before a deadline.
  • To clarify, we want to get all stakeholders - residents, neighbors, planners, officials, anyone with an open mind and an opinion about Grand Army Plaza - in a room together, and brainstorm about ways we can make GAP better.

A charette would hopefully produce a large scale re-visioning (not just re-timing traffic lights, but maybe re-routing roads) that has automatic consensus and legitimacy and political buy in.
