Wow, i'm actually surprised at that price - for a 2BR in Turner Towers $425 is quite low, as my sister, FLUTE, can attest.
-
I bet it will sell for more than the asking price.
-
No, that's the price it sold at. From "recent sales" column in NYT.
-
I think that's a major typo. I know there was a 2 bedroom 2 bath for sale over the past week or so and it was listed in the mid 900's. Plus, there have been bidding wars on a number of units as well.
One bedrooms are averaging about $400K, depending on whether it is a high floor with loads of sun and a view or a low floor with, well, not much of view and little sun.
I'll have to check it out. -

This is from Brownstoner, July 25, 2005.
And I believe that was an apartment on a pretty low floor. -
Seems low to me too; especially since a very good friend got on offer on her listed (high floor) 3 bedroom for 1.1million. Also TT has 25% flip tax which generally gets added to the price. So 425 is a steal if you ask me...

At first it gave me hope, but now, yes, it does sound suspicious.

we love the turner towers building, and are looking for a real three bedroom there (on a high floor, so there is light). if anyone knows of one coming up through a friend, etc., could you email me? it's helpful to know of something before it hits the nytimes and the brokers, if at all possible. thank you! -

sounds like a reasonable price.
we have lived here for 5 years and firmly believe that this is one of the finest buildings/locations in NYC!
We could not think of another location that would fit our needs better. -
Subject: Gwnyth Paltrow Filming at TT
Paltrow's film was shot in a 9th floor apartment at TT a couple of weeks ago.

Any idea what building is behind her in this picture (from the article Flute linked to above):

Yup, that's definitely 23rd Street. I work not too far from there.srl wrote: the bulding paltrow is standing in front of is London Terrace, the big prewar complex in chelsea.

Subject: 135 EP sale
That MUST be a typo, or an EXTREMELY motivated seller - either way why would it make the NYTImes? very strange...
In the building next door to 135 EP, we had a sale a year ago - 800 sq ft, 2 br, 1 bath - for almost $450K! and we have no doorman or similar amenities...
I hope this isn't the first signs of the bubble bursting! ;-)
Howdy, Stranger!
