Good VW Mechanic?

I am about to buy a 1999 VW Golf and I want to get it checked out before I seal the deal. Any suggestions for good VW or foreign car mechanic/garage in the area?

I sold my 1988 Volvo recently and me and buyer took it to this place on Atlantic for a pre-sale check up. He seemed honest and he didn't even charge us for driving it around the block & putting it in the air. Other than telling us the shocks were a little more worn than they were (my Dad's a mechanic in DC and disagreed slightly), he did a good job.

I've only used him this one time though.

I don't know the exact address but it's on the south side of Atlantic.

There's a foreign car auto-mechanic on Bedford. Sorry, I can't remember the cross street, Lexington or Greene, I think. Anyway, it's on the right as you're heading up the street. A friend of mine has been taking her Volvo there for years.

Theres an amazingly honest and talented mechanic off Utica and Foster Ave.
