    * lots of happy friendly people but comparatively few drunk people on the streets compared with big cities in other Western democracies
    * no kids with DIY fireworks on every block (and thus fewer burning buildings, missing fingers, eyes, hearing loss, etc.)

What I miss: dancing outside until the midsummer dawn and lazing around the bbq or beach party the next day.
when I lived in miami, we always had a new years day party that involved a big stew (ajiaco - a root-vege stew) and that party always involved tons of dancing and lazing. unfortunately, having the nye party pretty much killed my ability to have a nyd party. and getting a cold on nyd (ugh, still congested and ill feeling - who made me sick?!) prevented my ability to party and laze on nyd. :(
  • Subject: New Years eve CO style

me, my college roommate (a 5th level illusionist) and his brother (a novice cleric) went cow tipping one new years eve. one cow charged at us when it awoke on its side. it was good I had a many hit points. scary fun was had by all. wish i could have done it again but it was very hard finding slumbering cows in NYC. :(

I know that sounds incredibly boring, but we're never home at night together, so boring suited just fine!
Eerie - I live on the same block and I just finished season 2... (BTW - second to last episode "I'll Take You," is EFFIN' GREAT!)

Anyway, we watched fireworks from a local rooftop, but that damn Meier building was smack-dab in front of the fireworks!!! :x
  • Every episode is amazing. We can't watch them fast enough.
