  • Why not just make a new email address just for this, and then set up a PayPal account?
  • I actually think that one more and one less laid back is better than two prima donna kitties. The boy will find time to be cuddled - he's not hurt when he walks away, I think he probably just figures he doesn't want to fight about it. And once they settle in the girl will probably need less attention. And two cats is better than one because they won't get bored. They do get along, right - I mean, when you had both they were in the same room and everything, right? (Can you tell, I'm rooting for the boy to go with the girl?)
  • A boy and a girl make the best pair... and I agree that things will settle down, as far as one being more needy.

    Ripley
there's a red mark on your pit's snout. is this from the muzzle?
  • No, I didn't have the muzzle then. That picture is from when we lived in Park Slope, much less food on the ground there. I only had to get it when we moved to PH/CH. It was probably from playing with Cheech, she has such short fur that every little nick shows up. Or it could have been a scratch from her messing with the wrong kitty. Only Caseopia (the 3-legged one) likes Ripley rubbing all up on her. The other 3 don't take too kindly to it. Cheech is lucky because he has such thick fur, especially around his head and neck. So the pups can play bitey face as much as they want and he doesn't get hurt. Oh, and the muzzle has felt on the piece that goes over her nose so it doesn't rub.

You guys are probably right about baby boy getting along with the girl if he goes to her family. They got along fine when they were together in my bathroom. They are both so sweet and while they weren't all buddy-buddy with each other they got along fine.

If people want to donate using paypal I can give the email address to anyone who PM's me. I've never used it to receive money though so I don't know how to go about using them money. If anyone else is more familiar with the process, let me know. Thanks again everyone!
  • Caseopele, I'd love to see the kitties, especially the 3 legged one (we had a dog who could only use 3 legs although they never cut the 4th one off).

There's a thread under the pets section called Who's da fuzza wuzza (or something similar) with a gorgeous assortment of kitties.

If you've ever used PayPal to send money, then I think you should be all set up already to receive money as well. If you haven't, you'll need to visit the PayPal site and check their instructions for doing so (I don't remember myself -- it's been ages since I set mine up -- but I do remember it was easy). Either way, log in to your PayPal account and make sure whatever email address you plan to PM to people is registered on PayPal.

Another option would be for you to get a Muffins Certificate (www.muffins.org or can be purchased at NYC Pet). The feline male neuter certificate is only $38. Prospect Park Animal Clinic accepts these certificates and does a great job. They only charge an additional $25 (for a post-op pain injection). Just mention that you will be using a Muffins Certificate for the procedure.
  • Thanks apollonia for the paypal info and telling me how to post pictures! Here's the 3-legged wonder Caseopia.

    Caseopia
  • Oh, and quijibo, I would never make Ripley wear a muzzle that hurt her. I specifically chose the basket muzzle because of the felt protecting her nose and it lets her pant and sniff. Trust me, any boo-boos that Ripley acquires are purely her own fault. She's a big oaf and is more likely to inflict injury upon me when she tries to lay on me in bed. She doesn't realize that she's not kitty sized and can't lay on mommy's tummy! :)
  • Caseopia the tripod kitty has SUCH pretty eyes! She looks like an eyeliner ad. :)
  • Just got off the phone with the vet. I donated my $25!!!
  • How pretty your kitty is!

I just passed your job and left $5 with Charlie. He said he'll give it to you later tonight. It's under the counter in a brown wine bag with a note on it.

<---will very likely be the homeless chick with the cats one day.
  • I wanted to put my vote in again also for the two cats. Of course, you don't want the people to take the second one if they don't want him but I think it might work out for the best.

I think that cats like company, for the most part(of course there are exceptions but you know these two like each other). When I adopted my second cat (not related), everyone thought the first cat would never get along with her, that first cat was too shy and used to being on her own, etc. etc. The two kitties were never 'best' friends but they had a simple harmony together and I think the company was really nice for both of them. They also had totally different personalities but it worked.

Your two that you kindly rescued are related and know each other. I always feel sad when related kittens are split up if it's possible to keep them together. There's a certain relationship that related cats have that is so sweet, from what I've seen.

& What mean souls to throw the cats out on the street tho'! what is up with that? Why wouldn't they try to find them a home? Unless they were part outdoor cats and they thought they'd manage...? Maybe they did try and didn't have success but to just get tired of your cats... ? It's a responsibility, true, but once you take it on, you sort of have to follow through.

Cute dog & cat! Thanks for sharing.

the only reason i mention is because i've seen too many muzzled dogs
whose snouts are bleeding from the muzzle rubbing against it
  • It's ok quijibo, I'd rather people spoke up when they thought something was wrong than allow an animal to be mistreated. I didn't take offense, just wanted to reassure you that my girl is ok. You know, I do threaten to beat the dogs when they're bad but they never believe me.

people who throw cats out on the street are stupid and uncaring and, frankly, there is a place in hell for them. they are living creatures, don't adopt them if you can't deal with a 10+ year commitment.
  • Subject: Quick Update

I want to eat my burrito before it gets cold so just a quick update for right now. Kitty and I have just returned from the vet and he is healthy as can be! He got his shots, tested negative for feline leukemia and aids and is a year old. We had enough money to pay the whole bill too! Thanks guys, will post more after my din-din. :D
  • Ok, kitty is very healthy and out of the bathroom now. Mostly staying close to it though, my kitties and dogs are very curious about him but keeping their distance. My vet gave me a discount, he knocked $50 off so it came out to $153.75. I had enough to pay the whole bill from the donations you guys made and the money I raised at my job. Thank you guys so much! The donations came out to $120, I can't believe how thoughtful you all have been. I have a few potential adopters, one from here and a few from craigslist. I'll let you guys know what happens with them. Thanks again! You guys rock!
  • Yay kitty! Good luck with the whole crew getting along :-)
