Flushing Avenue in a Pathetic State of Disrepair
I regularly ride my motorcycle on Flushing Avenue from Washington all the way up the ramp to Manhattan Bridge.
Even by NYC standards this has to be one of the worst stretches of road.
The funny thing is that repairs were done only last year....i think around summer and one can see the patched area of tar all over.
However, I feel either the contractor did a con job and is in hand in glove with some city officials, or that there needs to be some serious overhaul.
Will it help if I call 311 and complain. I am wary of that because this is not one pothole but a series of them stretching nearly a mile. Riding there every morning is like starting out the day on an easy cross country motocross run.

which segment of Flushing are you speaking of?
I know that between roughly Kent Ave and Broadway they're doing some major sewer/sanitation project that invovles laying down this huge pipe underneath the road. For the past 6 months at least they've been tearing up blocks at a time to lay down this huge pipe. The road is a total disaster but I assumed that was because they weren't done with the project yet.
I assume (hope? pray?) they'll make Flushing a 2-way street again whenever the hell they're done with it. -

did they do the same major sewage work that they're doing further down flushing?
