Attention Local Foodies!Want the opportunity to sample some of the best home cooking in Brooklyn?Then come to The Great Squash Cook-off!

The event will feature twenty amateur chefs who face the challenge of creating a delicious vegan dish using seasonal winter squash There will be prizes, fun, and of course food! The contenders include new takes on the traditional (Thai Butternut Squash Soup), to the sweet (Butternut Persimmon Pudding), to the exotic (Indian Squash Halwa).

Admission of $15 includes samples of featured dishes as well as the opportunity to vote for your favorite and witness the inauguration of Brooklyn's very first squash champ!

Judges include a panel of local food authorities and restaurant owners, including Isa Chandra Moskowitz, author of Vegan with a Vengeance; and Anna Lappe, author of Grub: Ideas for the Urban Organic Kitchen.
