Wine Chocolate Tasting!!!!

2nd Annual Port and Chocolate Tasting - TONIGHT

Please join us for our second annual port and chocolate tasting TONIGHT
from 6-8pm at the Fort Greene store. Cary Becraft of CaryMo Chocolate
will be on hand to tempt you with artisanal chocolates with fillings
such as a raspberry dessert wine reduction, a New York state
late-harvest Riesling reduction and a special Valentine’s truffle.
We’ll sample our port portfolio including ruby, tawny and 1997 vintage
ports from Infantado.

Customers who tried Infantado’s 1997 vintage port with us in December
were blown away (as were we) and we immediately called the importer and
bought all remaining cases they had on hand in the warehouse. Not only
is the 1997 sublime, swirling with gentle flavors of deep, dark plums
and chocolate that give way to a supple finish, characteristics of a
properly aged port, it is a relative bargain at $45 and can age another
10-15 years. Infantado didn’t declare another vintage year until 2003
so for the next few years, the 1997 is the one to drink

Fun Wine Fact

Did you know that it is an English tradition to give a young vintage
port as a gift upon the birth of a child? In addition to the 1997 port
from Infantado, we also have the 2003, which will be at a peak 21 years
from now. And think about it, what could be better than giving a port
from Infantado. Get it? Infant . . . ado.

See you tonight!

Cheers!
