CH Bar Crawl - this time for real

okay, I am reposting the poll to add in Fridays so everyone needs to vote again.

Also, I think the time table was something like:

soda
sepia
ripple
secrets
cafe 400
vip
starlite (if we can work it in and seems like a good idea - it might not be)

Hate to be a wimp, but I think a Friday works best for me and my work schedule. Taking into account how cold/crappy the weather is.

Whatever the date is, if I can make it, I'll drink ya'll under the table! Dats right, I'm calling your newbies and yeller livered kids out!!!

Friday is okay and would probably be my second choice, but next weekend is now completely shot for me.

I won't drink anyone under the table (alcohol is a depressant and puts me to sleep), but I'm bringing folks who more than make up my shortcomings in this area.

My lieges will prevail! They drink ale and mead, and don't know fear!!!

if we start on a friday, I'm thinking we start at ... 7ish (soda happy hour stops at 8 - that's the only reason we're hitting that spot - cheap booze), then 8 p.m. to sepia, 9 p.m. to ripple, 10 p.m. secrets, 11 p.m. cafe 400, midnight vip. if we did this on a saturday, I'd suggest shifting the start time to 6 p.m.

we should definitely have a schedule so people can meet up at different locations.

oh, and sadly, I hear that indigo is, in fact, not reopening. at any location. so bleh.

looks like this is probably gonna happen on march 2nd unless things change rapidly.
I'll make it a global, with a schedule, probably on sunday.
I'll also call these spots, especially cafe 400, secrets, and vip and make sure they're going to actually be open and free to get into on friday.

also, does anyone know of any other bars in CH that might work? I'd hate to find out that all three spots are having private events or $20 cover charge nights and have the pub crawl die at ripple ... that's barely CH!

I know the owner and bouncers of Essence (used to sing there), there's a cover, but I could probably wrangle something out of them- if it's someone's birthday (or if we just tell 'em it is, we can get a free bottle of champagne!). The only thing is, is that's it's really not within stumbling (or crawling for that matter) distance to any of other the spots. And even though I'm a superhero and all I wouldn't wanna stumble around that neighborhood trying to get to Essence.

hmm. well, I'd prefer each location be a little more clustered. I'll make some calls during the week next week to figure out 'sup on friday evening at these places.

Ditto, Brooklyln Exposure. It's about two years old and conveniently located at 1401 Bedford Avenue, corner St. Marks Ave. The phone number is (718) 783-8220. They have a nice bar and decent food as I recall. I was there maybe 9 months ago.

are there any places to stop at Classon or Franklin? that's two whole avenues before we can get to Brooklyn Exposure.

cafe 400 is at nostrand and sterling
VIP is at president and nostrand.
