  • It's hard to guess from that description.

Are you sure it's not litter? She could be carrying on her feet and have it stuck to her ass.....
  • Do they look like small grains of white rice? If so then she might have worms. My oldest cat had them years ago when she was young, I took her to the vet, they gave me some kind of medication for her and I've never seen them again. Thank jeebus!
  • Yes it does look like rice. But i just had her de-wormed about a month ago and she is an undoor cat. I know its not litter..
  • Mine were too (I had another cat at the time) but they still managed to get worms. I have no idea how it happened but they managed to get them. I think they may have had to take the medication twice to get rid of them completely. Either way, it looks like a vet visit might be needed. I know it sucks to have to take them again when they've just been there. Having 4 cats and 2 dogs I have to rotate vet visits, otherwise I would be totally broke.

Hopefully, it's not worms, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Let us know what happens, good luck!
  • It sounds like your cat might specifically have a tapeworm. I *think* standard deworming medication might not cover tapeworms, which could explain why you're still seeing symptoms even after the treatment a month ago. When you take your cat to the vet, be sure to bring along some samples of the rice-like pellets, especially the ones found near your cat's butt, so that the vet can confirm what kind of parasite it is. Icky, I know.
  • Your cat has tapeworms. You should take a stool sample to your vet and they will run a fecal. They will give you a dewormer to give to your cat. I would also recommend that you apply a dose of Advantage or Frontline to your cat. Tapeworms are often the result of fleas. Tapeworms is a pretty easy thing to treat.
