Fire Friday night on Cabridge bet. Gates Greene

Anyone have any deets on that fire Friday, around 6-7pm, just around the corner from Locanda Vini & Olii? It brought out a lot of trucks and and ambulance or two.

It was around 6:30 at a house close to Greene and thankfully no one was home. The fire started on the top floor--the firemen went in with ladders and cherry pickers. Apparently the fire was first spotted on St. James--there were big flames coming out of the back of the top of the house.

The owners are new--they bought last summer--and have been doing a fair amount of work. I have no doubt that the damage to the interior of their house is severe, and I really feel for them.

The ambulance came because a guy who lives in an adjoining house is disabled, but turns out he's fine.

The ambulance responded because it was an "all hands" which means a confirmed fire. It's a precautionary matter.
