New Brownstone Cleaners on 7th Ave?

I have used Brownstone Cleaners for years, and have never had problems... until a few weeks ago. I noticed that the normal owners (who were great) had not been there for awhile. When I asked the new couple, they first said the original couple was "on vacation", and there was no ownership change. However, the name on a credit card receipt has changed (New Brownstone Cleaner), and the new couple tried to say the workers haven't changed, in an effort to not lose customers I guess.

The problem happened when a pair of pants went missing. Instead of my wool pants (which would have been helpful on the really gross snowy day a few weeks back), I had someone else's that were about 6 sizes larger than anything else in my order. I luckily realized the mistake while still in the store, but the people at the counter were unsure of what to do. "Give us a week" they requested, which was completely reasonable.

It has now been over three weeks, and everytime I go in for an update, or to see if anyone else has realized their pants are missing (maybe ours were switched!) they just smile and say, "Give us a week." I've tried asking what they will do if the pants don't turn up, and they just say, "Ah, yes, give us a week."

Maybe clothing mixups are common at dry cleaners, but I guess I'm disappointed because I've never had a problem with them before, nor have I heard any complaints before. In the last week, though, a family member was in there and saw another customer screaming at them because something was missing.

Has anyone else had problems over the last few weeks with Brownstone? Maybe mine is an isolated incident, but if others are having issues, I want to here about it.

(And if people have other dry cleaner suggestions, feel free to tell.)

i have so far really liked the place on berkeley between 7th and 8th. i think it's called gr cleaners or something. they moved from around the corner on 7th a few months back. seem good to me if you're nearby.
