  • I've tried both and I like both insofar as fast food (not sit down) places are concerned. Kum Kau seems somewhat legendary in these parts; and although decent, many swear by it...its usually crowded. Myrtle Thai has pretty decent food as well and is pretty reasonably priced. Both are great as pick-up-something-on-the-way-home places.
  • I've eaten at each of them once (sit-down both times):

    Myrtle Thai- August 2005.

    Kum Kau- December 2005.

Neither one made much of an impression one way or the other.
  • I found Myrtle Thai to be very mediocre.

I like Kum Kau but i'm not convinced its any better than any other low budget chinese place
  • I love both palces. kum Kau is legendary. they actually have a children's book published that is a decent book...not many know that bit of trivia. The food is also good as far as Chinese goes. As for Myrtle Thai, we love that setting as it has character inside. Though rarely more that a few folks eating in, we always do and witness their delivery people very busy. We like the restaurant personally as the owners are always full of smile and are very gracious toward our children when we go. Their food is also rather consistent.
  • Kum Kau, oddly enough, has the most amazing fried chicken. Seriously, it's perfectly seasoned and moist.
