Please join the Brooklyn Peace Parade on Sunday March 25th beginning
at 1:30pm. The parade is a grass roots family-oriented event to
protest the war in Iraq. This one is for the kids, to show them that
they can speak up and teach them how a democracy works. We will gather
at Carroll Park in Carroll Gardens at 1:30pm (the F and G Subway stops
are right there). Each child will be given a balloon with a peace
symbol on it. Children are invited to bring home made banners and
musical instruments, especially drums.

At 2:00pm we will begin marching across Union Street from Carroll
Gardens to Grand Army Plaza in Park Slope. We hope that families and
adults will join us along the way. We estimate to arrive at Grand Army
Plaza at about 3:00pm. At Grand Army Plaza the following people are
scheduled to speak 1) Helen Selsdon, Organizer 2) A veteran of the Iraq
war 3) Rusti Eisenberg, Scholar and Political Activist for Brooklyn
Parents for Peace 4) Congresswoman Yvette Clark 5) Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez. In addition we hope to have musicians perform. The event is scheduled to finish at about 4:00pm."
