Why do I need to register on Brooklynian?

You don't HAVE to, to post on this particular board. Elsewhere on the site, it's required. If you're sticking around for more than one post, it's highly recommended.

You get to choose your name and make sure that nobody else posts under that name.

It's still anonymous, but it makes you a known quantity and people will pay better attention to what you say and get to know you. It's community building.
