Saw this on this week's Nonsense-NYC list and thought I'd share. I have no affiliation with this thing, just thought it sounded neat, so if you want more info contact the person listed at the end.
Make Your Own

You're invited to the next potluck dinner where people make things in
teams. At the first potluck we made interpersonal games, at the
second we made art projects, and last time we made a new holiday,
Broken Hearts Day, complete with greeting cards. The Broken Hearts
Day team will continue and we'll also choose to make games, art or
your own holiday celebration in other teams (what holiday would you
like to bring into the world?). In addition to bonding with strangers
and taking home something playful you made, you'll have the option to
continue with your team on more ambitious adventures of your choice
to combine the best of work and play.

What are these potlucks for? Community organizing across teams,
involving people in what you care about, and inspiring yourself to
live more of your dreams, take action and live playfully. We have
diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Fascinating similarities and
shared interests have emerged when we make things together.
