Simon Liu Gallery Opening... Soon to be Closed? — Brooklynian

Simon Liu Gallery Opening... Soon to be Closed?

Did you hear about Simon Liu's Prospect Heights art gallery? The one that opened on Dean St. in April of this year? Apparently, it's in the footprint of Bruce Ratner's megastadium plan, and could be displaced if the project is approved. Opening a gallery in a "marked" spot is an interesting move, especially so late in the game... What's even more interesting is who showed up on opening night: head "Bring the Nets to Brooklyn" cheerleader Marty Markowitz. Bet that made for some interesting wine-and-cheese chat:

PICTURED: Marty enjoys art, prepares to punch photographer. Gallery curator Leon Nicholas Kalas looks on, helplessly.
