And thanks for the tip, Alfy. I have this camisole I mistakenly bought that would be perfect in this situation.

I was looking on the Kohl's website and didn't see a listing for Manhattan. Where is it?
  • I have to say although I almost never shop at Saks once I was desperate for the correct bra to wear with a certain dress I had to wear to be in a wedding party (it had to be strapless) so I went there as it was close to where I work and I was running out of time. The middle-aged lady there helped so much in finding a good bra that really fit. It was worth it.
  • My new favorite bra

I was able to get it for half the price on ebay and now have the toffee and pink color. Super cute stripes on the band and shoulders and it's an excellent everyday tee shirt bra. Holds my girls up high and perky 8)

Seriously though, get yourself sized by a professional, after going to Town Shop I found out I had my boobs all confused. My cup was way too small and my band size was waay too big. I was shocked at my final size!
I was soo much bigger than I thought! but in a good way :P
  • A little late to this discussion, but I HAVE to mention Intimacy on Madison and 89th. Yes, the bras are not cheap, but they are well-made, and if taken care of, will last a very long time. I go to them every year or so and I've never been disappointed. They just keep bringing you different bras until you're happy, and yes, they will re-educate you on what your size ACTUALLY is. When I was fitted, my jaw dropped to the floor when they told me my size, I had no idea the bra alphabet went that far. But once you get over the shock, and your boobs look/feel awesome, the label means nothing.

  • I LOVE my mommy! I don't care what anyone says, I'm a 38C even though by no measurement method do I come out that way. I say that because only in that size do I have a comfortable bandwidth (tight, but not too tight) and I fill out the cups nicely. I am REALLY uncomfortable in a 36 because that is just too tight. I prefer to be able to allow my rib cage to swing freely.

Problem is, I still had a damn hard time trying to find bras my size without those damn underwires so I asked my mom to find some for me. (Because it makes her feel useful and it's easier for her to express love by buying me stuff I need.)

The funny thing is, when the bra care package arrived, I was in the middle of submitting for a bra industrial, which required me to write a bra horror story. I just had the audition yesterday. Wish me luck because I could really use the dough.

Anyway, these are the BEST fitting bras I've EVER had. My tatas are happy! And these were reasonably priced Playtex ($18) and Hanes ($9) bras. So I went out and bought up what few Target had. They're comfy, I feel supported and my boobies look fantastic! My mother also sent me some generic $4 bras and suprisingly, these fit well, too, though I've noticed that after a long day of the war between the bra and gravity, gravity wins, so I won't be buying more of those. My boobies feel TIRED after a day of wearing the uber-cheap bra.

I think I got stuck in wearing 36D partly because that's how I measure, and also partly because of my mom's influence. (She can't believe that I'm actually a separate person so she keeps thinking that I'm exactly the same size and vocal type she is. Yeah, I know it's weird.) But to tell you the truth, 36D's never fit terribly well.
  • My bras were stretching out from wear (and because I've been eating a bit too well lately) so I went to Macy's tonight looking for new ones. I'd never found a perfect fit, but I'd always done reasonably well with Wacoal bras, so I went to that section. The saleslady there pulled a bunch for me that I'd never have tried on my own, and they FIT PERFECTLY! Sat right on the breastbone, and were pretty to boot. One even had skinny straps!

Just had to share my joy. :)
