Craig's List is aware of these scams but can't do anything about it. With Pay Pal, they have to have an account linked up to a bank that is then verified.

Pay Pal is also part of Ebay.

Some people actually write on their ads, NO out of the country scams, lol.

I meant Ebay also has to verify your account information. As of February, Ebay will only let you accept Pay Pal. No more checks or money orders.

he sent me a check stating his secretary inadverently sent the wrong one to me (supposedly made out to someome else for $2,000.00 more of the amount i was asking for) and to just take my $400.00 out of that one, then send the difference back to him. i said, ok, this sounds ok, but when it arrived and i phoned him, the rules started to change and he was asking me to do all kinds of things with the money like wire some to the shipping co, this to here, that to there - that's when "the red flag" went off for me, i ripped the check up and told him the deal was off.

thank god he was protecting us.

Me too. I'm just so glad to have this all behind me. But I still have to follow up with the ENT to see why I lost the rest of my hearing in my right ear.
