suzieHi Franny & Loretta.....That Guy drives me crazy when he's here and when he's not!!!! -
francescaHi Loretta --
Thanks for my Facebook HUG.... I'm not a 'facebook' person as I mentioned here before, so sorry if I didn't acknowledge on facebook.
But it was sweet of you... xxx (I'm sure I'm creating facebook enemies.)
No sunshine today - but that's OK; there's always tomorrow. Makes
it easier to not be distracted. We're taking a break tomorrow to go
to Sarasota to a Greek Festival. Next week there's an Italian Festival
here in Venice, so I'm really looking forward to that - the proud Guinea
that I am!!!!! -
loretta napoliDon't worry about the facebook thing, honestly I'm not sure what the hell I'm doing on it! Festivals-yum, lots of good food. Needless to say, the Italian one will be the best-I bet there will be lots of "northern Italians" (as in NY) there, so I'm sure the food & people will be great -
francescaSUZIE - Jon BonJovi is so cute..
I used to love Richie Sambora too, until he became one of those
A-hole husbands..... There's something about his eyes, and 'look'
that makes my body parts quiver.
So, NOW - I'm dedicating this SONG to me... Since my house closed today in NJ... It's weird.... But - It makes me really feel for the poor people who lose their beloved homes because of the economy. At least mine was a positive reason.... Thank you JESUS!
-
francescaYes Loretta - I LOVE THE ITALIAN PEOPLE... As a young one, I was always
so happy (as I am now) that I am Italian. I think my second choice was
to be IRISH.... Must have been when I was a red head and connected
with Maureen O'Hara.... LOL -
suzieLOL...Im waiting for a sentimental video ....and Im hysterical laughing -
loretta napoliFranny - I can remember being about 7 years old. there was this Irish family on 23rd street - the Cush's. Well, Noreen Cush was in my class & she had the BEST friggin banana curls I ever saw - I was, pardon the expression, "green" with envy. The nuns loved her & her sister - they alsways made them do the Irish jig in front of the classroom. Funny, none of the nuns wanted to see a tarantella LOL -
francescaA few weeks ago someone suggested (MY JOY, LYNN, I think) that I update my picture to Florida background - guess I should. I just realized I am looking at my 'old' backyard
. I need to LOOK FORWARD! -
francescaCAN ANYONE DO SOME AIRBRUSHING FOR ME???? -
suzieFestina ...is good at that!
Im gonna sign on to Facebook ...for a few...then I have to run out...see all of you lata! -
francescaThey probably didn't like the Italians, Loretta.
I went to PS 146 and I remember a little girl coming from Italy.
Her name was Vita - 'they' changed to Tina.. To Americanize.
My sister and I were both named after our grandparents -
Filomena and Francesca. We too got 'americanized' - when I
was 'older' in my 30's - I had it legally changed back to Francesca.
ALSO - at AT&T where I worked for a lifetime...
When I got married in 1975 (first time), I kept my maiden name
BRUNO (ESKEW)
as a middle name (didn't do the HYPHEN THING)..
One of my bosses (A-hole) said I should consider dropping the Bruno
cause it may hurt my image and I'd be perceived to be 'someone
who should be home having babies and cooking pasta' VS. having a career.
I said "F... You"
Mind you, I worked in an organization where we taught Diversity!!!! -

t-bone51LORETTA,
My son s doing good . He has a bad cough. It seems all those italians have the flu and bronchitis. I told him to go to the doctor and take care of it before it gets worse. He is going to Tuscany for Valentines day with his girlfriend. the had to cancel France, it was 3 times the price because of Valentines Day. Like I wrote before. What a life.....When his girl said Tuscany, I said Tuscany, Tuscany or Tuscany Restaurant???LOL TUSCANY
WOW. They said it is only 20 minutes away from Florence. -
loretta napoliTerry that's great - hope he takes lots of pictures.
My son's just getting over the flu - 5 days of fever, I was really starting to worry. Back on his feet, thank God, but still a little off. Poor kid, went back to work yesterday & got laid off - another victim of the economy.
I guess sometimes you bite the bear & sometimes the bear bites you! -
t-bone51all we do is worry about our kids -

HISTORY OF THE NEW YORK EGG CREAM
This old-time New York thirst-quencher is sweet and full of fizz. Despite its name, the egg cream contains neither eggs nor cream.
In the beginning, it was a soda produced almost exclusively in New York (particularly Brooklyn). the basic ingredients are milk, seltzer, and chocolate syrup. It is traditionally made in a small Coke-style glass.
True New Yorkers insist that it is not a classic egg cream without Fox's U-Bet Chocolate Syrup. It is perfectly proper to gulp down an egg cream. In fact, egg cream will lose its head and become flat if it is not enjoyed immediately.
For many years, the egg cream remained a product sold only through New York soda fountains because bottled versions were impossible to make. The cream, chocolate, and soda had a tendency to separate and to go bad after a couple days at best, and efforts to pasteurize or preserve the product ruined the taste. Today, Egg Cream drinks are being bottled by a few small companies.
Egg creams became so popular that author, Elliot Willensky, wrote in his book titled When Brooklyn Was the World: 1920-1957, "a candy store minus an egg cream, in Brooklyn at least, was as difficult to conceive of as the Earth without gravity."

francescaLEGENDS OF THE EGG CREAM
This is very lengthy, so I won't paste here. If anyone gives a hoot,
