Hi Guys, Someone please explain, I always thought that lent was for 40 days...its supposed to end on Easter Sunday....well from today to Easter Sunday is 46 days....... :roll:

That is strange.

Maybe God is giving some extra days in there so we can get it right this time.

That is just what I started doing. I usually don't eat all day and the metabolism is sluggish then. Now, I force myself to eat a breakfast bar in the am, and keep eating every 2 hours or so. Small things.

LENT IS 40 DAYS BEFORE EASTER U DONT COUNT THE SUNDAYS I THINK BECAUSE SUNDAY IS THE DAY HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD, SO THEY DONT COUNT THE SUNDAYS BEFORE.

So, does that mean that Sundays don't count during Lent??? A day off every week, lol.

In the Western Christian calendar, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and occurs forty-six days (forty days not counting Sundays) before Easter. It falls on a different date each year, because it is dependent on the date of Easter; it can occur as early as February 4 or as late as March 10.

Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. The ashes used are gathered after the Palm Crosses from the previous year's Palm Sunday are burned.
