Being there are so many people losing their jobs, the positions may fill up fast. It will not start right away, and you can probably start in January if you want to start that late.

The job pays well, especially the mileage pay which is not taxed.

They haven't called me yet, but they are very slow down here in NC. I never or very rarely check my answering machine and should do that just in cas they have called, lol.

Well, if you take the test and pass, you can change your mind later or start when you feel like it. But they won't be testing much longer. It is a lot of fun and you meet a lot of people.

They will start jobs on April 1st.

This is going to happen rarely. For the most part it is very safe and you can go out in teams if you want. Staten Island is pretty safe as far as I know.

Believe me, here we have rednecks/ hillbillies, who don't trust the government and they think you are trying to spy on them, lol, and try to chase you off !!!

And if you pass the Supervisors test, you don't have to go out but just check people's forms that they turn in. I think the first jobs in April will be to actually send out the forms, check them and also drive around a add new roads and houses to the maps. I think this year, people will have hand held computers for the mapping.

I didn't even take the supervisors test the last time, but got picked to be the co-crew leader by this woman and I worked on my own time, checking other people's work and went out only if some people gave others problems or refused to answer the questions. It was a great job and good pay.

If it is a large Mexican community, they will assign Spanish speaking enumerators to work the area.

I have to think about that. Brooklyn's got some rough neighborhoods.
