I just want to update everyone on my Cornbeef & Cabbage Dinner



1st ....thank you to my Ex Vinny Bird ....for dropping off his 30 pd. cornbeef, cabbage and potatoes ....
he had to work and couldnt cook it!

2nd....thank you to Tommy Reilly ...for giving me step by step instructions last night on how he cooks his
cornbeef dinner..... I was doing one thing wrong all these years ....where the meat was still hard and chewy.

He told me to work the meat ....yep ...thats what I said .....I cant believe I was doing it wrong all these years!
I rinsed off the cornbeef first ....then rubbed the seasonings into the meat with salt & pepper.....for awhile!
its been coooking since 8:00 am till 4 ....covered on a slow simmer .....then slice it up ....throw back in pot of liquid ....
add the cooked potatoes and cabbage to the cornbeef.....and it was the Best in all the years that Ive been cooking this .....
which is a very friggin long time!

Here is what I told my sister Judy to keep her bills organized - nothing big - I'm sure everyone does this

I keep a shoebox in my desk drawer that I keep all my paid bills in. I put in tabs so that I can label - gas bill, phone bill, each credit card bill separately, mortgage payment, etc. After the bill is paid I place it in the appropriate slot. The shoe box holds about one year's worth of bills. When the year is over, I shred everything and start again for the next year.

Now, if I want to look something up on a prior credit card bill or phone company charge - it's easy - I know exactly where it is and its all in chronological (sp.?) order.

You can also do this in a file drawer, making hanging folders for each bill.

See, no brain surgery here - it's just a simple method I found to work for me.

If you need advice on HOW to pay your bills and come up with a really great budget - my sister, Jolene, is the one to ask. She has helped many people with setting up a budget for their household. She works wonders!

Well that's it for me - you reminded me - I have to pay some bills - LOL

Hey Laura,

I even brought all my old bank statements, you did say to keep at least one year??? to work today and shredded them, now I am looking through all old check stubs and I will bring them tomorrow to work. I need desperately to clean out some of this friggin papers I have all over the house. I told you I was serious about starting to clean out all my papers....now to get Bobby to go through his......yea right!!!!!!!

And by the way my sister Jolene is terrific to sticking to a budget and has helped so many.. anyone interested give me a call......

Jury duty for 2 months???? OMG, I was on a murder trial for 10 days and we had to stay over the last night!!!! I thought that was long!!

SUZIE, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, MY SON JASON WAS ON THE GRAND JURY ABOUT 4 YRS AGO, THEY KEPT HIM AND THIS IS NO LIE FOR 3/12 YRS ON GRAND JURY CASES. HE WAS ALSO THE FOREMAN FOR THEM MOST OF THE TIME. HE LOVED IT. HE WAS ON THE JURY FOR ALOT OF THE BIG TRIALS THAT WERE IN THE PAPERS... HE WAS IN COLLEGE AT THE TIME AND SWITCHED HIS CLASSES AROUND TO ACCOMMADTE THE COURTS.
HE LOVED IT. IT ACTUALLY BECAME HIS JOB FOR 3/12YRS

THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO SAY 3 1/2 YRS

Patsy .....they picked me also ...for Madam Foreperson .....so I heard cases for the 2 months ...then had to go back up to 1 year to sign my name to all the indictments ......
