DIDN'T IT HAVE LIKE A BIG HALLWAY BEFORE U WENT IN BECAUSE WE TALKED ABOUT THIS ON THE OLD SITE. I REMEMBER THEM WAXING THAT FLOOR AND MY MOTHER FELL WITH MY SISTER LORI JEAN IN HER ARMS. I WAS ABOUT 13 YRS OLD, I TURN AROUND AND THERE IS MY MOM ON THE FLOOR AND HOLDING MY SISTER UP IN THE AIR SO SHE WOULD NOT GET HURT. FUNNY THE THINGS U REMEMBER. I WAS PROBABLY EMBARRASSED BEING A 13 YR. LD KID...LOL -
suzieOMG ....Terry ....I have to tell you this story....I wanted a black top with maybe 4-5 buttons on the front, aqua, hot pink, yellow and i think purple...it was in the window of Lady Fair
Back then ...I couldnt afford it.....I might have been 14yo's .....so we grubbed money from everyone, the guys that hung out on the corners....nickels, dimes and quarters, pennies you name it.....I walked in there with a plastic baggie with change to get that shirt!
those were the days .... -
janet m horanOK, all the pet post made me cry. I is the hardest thing you will ever have to do and I wish I was there with Franny. -
janet m horanNow I am crying for my Billy who died months ago. How many I can't remember because I think I have never dealt with it.
For Franny:
THE BEST PLACE TO BURY A DOG
"There is one best place to bury a dog.
"If you bury him in this spot, he will
come to you when you call - come to you
over the grim, dim frontier of death,
and down the well-remembered path,
and to your side again.
"And though you call a dozen living
dogs to heel, they shall not growl at
him, nor resent his coming,
for he belongs there.
"People may scoff at you, who see
no lightest blade of grass bent by his
footfall, who hear no whimper, people
who may never really have had a dog.
Smile at them, for you shall know
something that is hidden from them,
and which is well worth the knowing.
"The one best place to bury a good
dog is in the heart of his master." -

I had 2 dogs, Otis a Golden Retriever from North Shore Animal League and Destiny, who was my son's Pit Bull/ Boxer. Destiny decided to go mate with the neighbor's Black Lab who was the only one out of a litter of Golden Retrievers. So, we had 8 puppies. After 4 days, I checked the puppies and one female was tiny and died. I immediately found another one almost dead. I grabbed him and started bottle feeding him. He was too weak to eat from his mother.
So what did I do, I named him Billy. Now if you're like me, once I name an animal, they are mine for good. I had only one female left after 7 weeks, and before I actually gave her away, I started calling her Luly. The rest is history. She is laying on the floor behind me now.
So, I guess whenever someone loses their baby, I will relive losing my Billy, and be able to feel their pain, and possibly in consoling them, I am still consoling myself.
So Franny, you know that I am crying with you. -
