DEBBIE, TONIANN HAS BEEN DOING MATH HOMEWORK SINCE FRIDAY!!!SHE FINALLY FINISHED THIS MORNING, SO SHE CAN AT LEAST ENJOY OUR BBQ AT HOME...SHE WAS ON THE SENIOR TRIP FOR 2 DAYS & SHE HAD TO MAKE THAT UP,PLUS WHATEVER ELSE HE GAVE..THE BEST IS, THIS MATH TEACHER WAS ONE OF THE CHAPERONES ON THE TRIP!!

TONIANN HAS PERFECTATTENDANCE, SO SHE JUST RECEIVED A HOMEWORK PASS FOR ONE SUBJECT..YOU GUESSED IT!!! SHE GOT AWAY WITH DOING ONE NIGHT OF MATH HOMEWORK & STILL SHE HAS BEEN DOING THIS CRAP SINCE FRIDAY NITE...SHE BARELY STOPPED TO EAT MEALS & SHOWER, SO SHE COULD HAVE TODAY AS A FREE DAY OF HOMEWORK...

Did I mention the punish lesson we got from Ms. Loccamassina when I was in one of the lower grades ? All the hymns 250 times each. It was almost impossible to complete and I doubt anyone did the whole thing (or that she read them). At any rate, as pages were being passed forward and I saw pages without names, I wrote my name on them. Hey, nobody was going to get credit so I figured why waste those pages !

So, the message is that if your child has a punish lesson this weekend and you have a load of relatives/ friends over, hand them each a pen and one sheet of paper - many hands make light work.

Talking about punishments, the nuns at St. John the Evangelist must have gotten training at Our Lady of the Holy Inquisition. Thank god they never heard about water boarding.....though washing a child's mouth out with soap may have been worse (and it was done to at least two kids in my class!). In my case, they would have had to wash my brain with soap....."Father forgive me, I had impure thoughts about the girl in the third row second seat." A sentence I repeated every confession, though the object of my impure thoughts may have been different from week to week. No amount of soap or length of punish lesson would have worked and on occasion, I probably had a few impure thoughts while I was saying the penance. Yes, I am going to hell in a handbasket as they say.

Anyway, hope you all are enjoying the long weekend. I got to do a couple of long kayak paddles in the waters off Rhode Island on Saturday and Sunday. Now, it's time to do a little work outside (grass keeps growing.....need to bring Arlene's horse here to keep it grazed). While I am out on the water all year round, it is good to start reduce the amount of clothing I need to wear (water slowly warming). Planning to do several more group activities with M.A.S.K. including our 33 mile paddle from Liberty Park Jersey past the Statue of Liberty and then around Manhattan before returning (an all day trip with lots of rough water toward the end on the trip.....and usually with the wind against us for the last 12 miles).
