The big event here today is that this dinky little town
is getting a really big Super Walmart. It opens this
am and it is a BIG deal. My son has been doing
bloggging about it, and CNBC called him 2 days ago
and told him that they are in town for this big event
today.

Some people around here are pissed, but who cares,
most are not !!!

Yes, when they asked on the radio if people were all upset about this huge store coming in, I called and said why wouldn't I want to save time & gas by not driving into Asheville, as well as money !!

Some people said it would put the Mom & Pop stores out of business,
and I said, What M & P stores. We don't have any, lol

Most were pissed that they tore down this run down eyesore of a mobile
home park to build, lol.

right? i feel bad for the people who hav to work sometimes 20 hrs a day to make the things for us to buy so cheap - but then again, there are others like us here straped for cash when we're in need to buy things we need.

the government sure makes it hard for us to take a stand on "unfairness."

Yes Festina. Walmart just brought in over 200 jobs, so
most should be extremely happy.

I have radio waves (Skyrunner) and the rains sometimes screws it up.

there's good and bad in everything, i guess. i'm happy some people found work. feels like 1929 in 2009.

Yes, but I heard that the opening was delayed because many
of the people they hired didn't do any work, lol. Lazy hillbillies.

They just opened a huge Lowes in the same section 2 weeks ago,
ss this town is becoming much bigger. The restaurants, etc will
follow.
