Brooklyn Back When - Open Thread

AND THIS IS SHRIMP

1949, Christmas eve, actually early Christmas morning, a young man named Warren scurried home from Christmas eve service from the 12th Street Reformed Church, to begin celebrating Christmas with his family. 20 years or so later this same scene was repeated by a large group of young people who lived mostly from Prospect Avenue through the Twenties. Rushing home from various Church's to be with friends & families. About 40 years after that an amazing thing happened. Those people who lived from Prospect avenue through the twenties found each other on a silly little thing called a BLOG. Who ever would have imagined that when BLOGS were started that it could have such magical powers as to bring together these people, relatives, friends, acquainteces to relive so many memories. The magic continues. A small group of people, led by Terry Angelo, have worked their butts off to have a SECOND reunion of these folks just two months short of 40 years from that Christmas. They have over achieved and now have over 200 people coming together on Staten Island to eat, drink and share many, many memories.

That young man named Warren (Not young any more) wishes you all a wonderful day of fellowship, enjoying each others company eating, and not telling too many tales out of school. Just think, this is happening 60 years after my scoot home from Church.I am envious of your accomplishments!!!

hi cuz,
i was dis afternoon, forced myself to keep a lunch date with my girlfriend millie and her sister linda, (nice time) then to kohl's to buy my grand-daughter a coat and my grandson an outfit, then take my car to be serviced, and fell asleep in the car!
now i knew it was time to go back under the covers!
been there all day nursing a fever now and aches in even my fingers - must be the flu!
...and wats worse, is mom just caught it, and dats not good for her.
been livin on advil - it helps for the aches...will miss u at the reunion.

we're from 21st between 3rd and 4th, and mom (gina dileo guzzo) said the d'amicos' lived right by her and they were good friends.
